Attorney
Shaheen graduated from Bates College in 1979 and Suffolk
University Law School in 1982. After working one year for a private law
firm in Andover Massachusetts, Attorney Shaheen opened his own law
office in North Reading MA in 1983. Attorney Shaheen worked as a Bar Advocate in the Massachusetts Court system representing indigent criminal defendants for
several years during which time he also represented private individuals
in the general practice of law. In 1985, he moved his practice to North
Andover.
In 1985 he was appointed Town Counsel
to the Town of North Andover. As Town Counsel he was involved in all
aspects of municipal law including litigation, union negotiations,
contract negotiations on behalf of the town, issuing opinions to various town board's including zoning and planning boards. Attorney Shaheen continues
to be very involved in the community. He is currently a board member of
the following organizations/ programs:
Lazarus House Ministries Inc.
Lawrence Boating Program
North Andover Historical Society
North Andover Rotary Club
Attorney
Shaheen has extensive business experience providing him with a unique
perspective in business matters and corporate law. His business experience includes involvement with Shaheen Bros, Inc. his
family's food service/distribution business where he serves as the CFO. Attorney Shaheen also
owned and operated LAN Distributing Inc., an internet networking
company and the Red Tavern Restaurant. He is currently a
principle in PBJ Development Corp., a real estate development company and has participated in other real estate ventures as a partner.
Given
Attorney Shaheen's legal and business experience, it was natural for
his practice to evolve into a general business related law practice.
Attorney
Shaheen has extensive experience in commercial litigation having tried
cases in both State and Federal Courts in Massachusetts and New
Hampshire including the U.S. District Court. These cases have included
multimillion-dollar controversies. In
addition, on the transactional side, he has been involved in matters
from residential closings to major mergers and acquisitions on behalf
of his corporate clients.
Attorney Shaheen is admitted to practice in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire
State and Federal Courts. He is a member of the Massachusetts Bar
Association, Lawrence Bar Association and New Hampshire Bar Association.
